Transferring to Vimeo

So Amanda recomended this site for the animations and it's not bad. The quality is way better, and it doesn't glitch like Photobucket. And I don't need to worry about re-sizing the screen when I put it on the blog; it does it for me. My problem with it is uploading time and the fact that you have to wait for your film to be posted because you're not a pre-paid member, and the weekly limit is annoying. But overall the outcome is better. Thanks Amanda!
Here's my leica from the storyboard class. Higher resolution will be posted when a new week starts. )=

Now I'm slowly working on re-posting all of my Photobucket videos on Vimeo. Fun!

101st Post!

Cause I forgot that the last one was 100th. I'm making up for it this way.
Now, a new design of Antoan!

Texture I got from here link.
Also, today is my grandma's 70th birthday. Happy birthday grandma!
Here's a pic of the birthday card. This was actually one of my last year cloud studies.

And now some sketches!
Some monsters that I did along with some uber-detailed doodles after watching Secret of Kells, and some "life drawings" from character design class.

3 More Weeks )8

And first semester is over. It flies by so fast....
So I managed to finish the rough of my walk and run.

Majority I am satisfied with, but there are still more stuff that I would have liked to fix or add, but due date was today.
I wanna finish this and clean it up.
The song is Island Blues by Koop.

Forgot about this

It's a new beat!
Can you guess what's about?

I also saw Secret of Kells yesterday, and it's pretty awesome.

Data Way

So my cousins are leaving and I thought of doing a little drawing for them. Texture is the same from Virgo, so same creator.

Also, here are my drawings from Royal Winter Fair. I decided to do 'em in gouache.

Blast from the past

An old Photoshop file from the summer. I finished it today.
Back then I was in the mood of drawing horoscopes so I started off with my own sign, virgo. Strangely enough I always used to see this one depicted as a naked girl with flowers in her hair when I was a kid. I guess its my dam sexual innuendos luck. Now Abe will tease me about it again. )=
Texture I got from here link, since my usual spot, CG Textures, betrayed me. D=

The agony of reading week, when I had to do 7 different assignments for this one week is over. I finally got some me time to draw.

And here are some concept beats where this sassy chick got created. These are all sketches done during mid October.

Happy Haloween!

And heres an interior of a Rococo limousine. This was an Art History asignment where we had to mix a modern object with a period.

Is awesome. I love the dino display. I mainly disliked the whole one hour and 40 minutes of drawing skeletons. I wish we had more time to draw. Oh wells. Here are the two animal skeletons that I drew: Anteater and Aye-aye.

Also a 15-20 minute sketch of T-Rex.

Start of Reading Week

Will be painfully busy with homework. At least I've just finished my sound =). On another note, here's my lift and toss, which was completed and handed in 2 minutes before the deadline. =P

And colour samples from first painting assignment. Not really happy with the final one though. )=

Cafe drawings: From September to October

Mainly done on the bus or youtube. And caricatures of Abe, guy from my class, Nostalgia Critic and Hilary Leung, Creator of Ninja Cowboy Bear. And a caricature of my hair. There's also a hidden caricature of myself. Can you find it?

Something lost

I was looking through my sketchbook that I've finished and I've completely forgot about this page.
Few concepts of Elka (third one resembles the zombie from Hanna's not a boy's name too much) and Kikimo rather scared of this menace. Originally Elka had red eyes but I've changed them to purple because I felt that I was accidentaly discriminating albinos before.

Also my cleanest sketch ever (and that's saying a lot O_O).

Explanation for previous post

So we had to do beat boards for two poems: Bear and Nobody. Nancy (the teacher) liked the second one more, but for limited time we had to create these, she recommended the first one, and everybody liked this one more.

The poem, by Ellen Bailey, goes like this:
I look out my window and what do I see?
A large grizzly bear coming to visit me.
Oh Lord, please change that bear's direction.
He's uninvited and I don't want his affection.

And from that poem I created these beats:

From these beats I had to create a minimum of 16 storyboards with one panel fully coloured and as many colour essences as you want, and that is the previous post. =)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's my Bear storyboard.

I'm not gonna bother posting my wave boat and sack cause I know that is just bad. )=

Rodeo Tyme!

Went to rodeo today with my parents at Hershey Centre. Overall it was fun and I got to do a lot of drawings of horses cowboys and bulls. Here are some.

The bulls were toughest to draw mainly cause they were fast and were on stage for reall short time.

Haven't posted in a while

So here are some recent sketches, some school related, and some not.

I just realized how wonky cat's hip is. =_=

Pete Emslie did a caricature of me!

Only one problem- I hate 80s hair but here it looks like I'm bringing it back. Other than that this is my favourite caricature that someone did of me so far.

Practicing porfolio making

So please comment on how to improve. So far I have posted just a few images.

Quick Sketch

I finally have Photoshop CS4 on my laptop so I tried it out.
Done in 15 min.
At first I thought the uber lag was because of the antivirus scan, but it turns out, it's CS4 thats lagging! =D
It lags so much that you have to wait for brush size 3 on image of size 700x400 to catch up with you!
It pretty much blows.

Another one!

Another Maki post.
Also, this wenseday was my parents' 20th anniversary and although I wanted to buy them something my mom insisted to paint something in 1 day. D=
So I did two things. One was a set that she kept on asking me to do and second one was a surprise.
It's funny how something like this is really easy in Photoshop and yet in real life its so hard. The toughest parts were the hair and the border. Done with gouache, maybe in 7-8 hours?

Tried out different Photoshop style and I like how it turned out.

More Quickies

Here's another fast colouring of one of the sketches, and the yesterday's post updated.

Fan Expo was fun

Met this really cool artist and got introduced to this new game and book he created, Ninja Cowboy Bear.

And that's me being the bear lol.
And there was a really awesome display of Disney's movie Tron Legacy. Some concepts can be found here
Here's a pic of awesome machete that was spinning around.
After that I took my first try driving which I've found not fun at all. )=
Then after that I Photoshoped 3 faces from the earlier post.

This took me maybe 20ish minutes, which means yay, spending the summer practicing Photoshop really did pay off!

Last Summer Sketches

Actually done beginning of August these are side characters from Hebi's story, and a comparison of heights and body shapes.

For the dance poses I used the Asuka's and Vitollio's waltz dance as reference, and yeah I know the legs are a bit wonky.
